Recovering gracefully from a social media gaffe

If you are responsible for your company or organization’s social media pages, it’s easy to get your professional & private life mixed up. In February 2011, an employee at the Red Cross accidentally blasted a questionable tweet to more than a quarter million followers. (Hoot Suite is a great timesaver, but you’ve got to be careful, for pity’s sake!)

I imagine that the Red Cross knows something about keeping a calm head when disaster strikes. Maybe that helped them devise this humorous and polite strategy to recover:   http://philanthropy.com/blogs/social-philanthropy/from-gettngslizzerd-to-getting-donations-red-cross-capitalizes-on-twitter-gaff/27936
